We recently just got a beautiful batch of vegetable, herb, and outdoor plants perfect for your yard! As for outdoor blooming plants, we have red AND pink AND purple petunias that are sure to make your garden shine with there bright, vibrant colors!
But it doesn’t stop with petunias! We also are stocked up on marigolds, begonias, and geraniums!
After you’re done with your flower garden it’s time to start your vegetable/herb garden! We have tomato and cucumber plants! And for herbs we have parsley and basil.
As the weather gets warmer and summer gets closer we will have more outdoor plants and vegetable/herb plants so stay tuned!

Yesterday was the Central Square Business Association’s (CSBA) 81st ‘Annual Meeting & Runway!’ The event featured a festival of dumplings, cocktails, cullinary delights, and C2 Cultural District Fashion Show! To top it all off, the event also featured flowers donated by Central Square Florist!
We graciously donated 11 centerpieces and a presentation style bouquet of flowers for the event! Below you’ll find photos featuring the centerpieces. We thought we’d also add a photo of Cambridge City Councilor Ken Reeves performing in the fashion show for your enjoyment! The event was a total hit!
We at Central Square Florist are long time members of the CSBA. David, who currently operates the shop, has served on the board of directors for the past 25 years.
We are super excited to announce that we have just partnered with MIT and their TechCASH program! If you aren’t familiar with TechCASH, it’s a program that allows MIT students, faculty, and staff to purchase items and services at not only MIT, but also around the Cambridge area!
Earlier this month, we at Central Square Florist had the opportunity through the Combined Cambridge Business Association of attending a meeting at the Cambridge Police Station. At the meeting, the Cambridge Police and Fire Departments gave a combined presentation on “Response to Catastrophic Events”.
The meeting came about in response to the major catastrophe along the eastern seaboard in the form of a terrible storm, Sandy, which left many communities in various states unprepared to handle evacuation and care for their citizens back in October 2012. Additionally, it also referenced when the City of Cambridge had three quarters of the power go out towards the end of November 2012.
At the meeting, the police and fire departments explained how they respond to incidents accordingly in order to handle situations correctly. We learned how the police, fire, and EMTs work together in order to respond successfully Further, they explained if the city’s (Cambridge) resources are maxed out they are able to reach out to other surrounding communities for backup.
Being a local, small business we take pride in being involved with our Cambridge community.
This picture was passed on to us recently. I believe the picture was taken in the 1950′s. Central Square Florist was located at 603 Massachusetts Ave by Essex Street at the time of the picture. Interesting to see old style Metal Buckets out front that have been replaced by plastic now. Super Cuts is now at that address. Central Square Florist now resides near Prospect Street at 653 Massachusetts Ave. Libby’s Liquors is the only other store still located in Central Square from the picture. It is now located a few doors down towards MIT.
